My crafty self is back! I don't think Adam knew what kind of DIY-er wife he was getting himself into when he asked me to marry him. Lucky for him though, that means we will have a super cute place, at a super low price. Crafting is so fun, and I feel like when I walk into Hobby Lobby or Joann's, my head just spins with ideas and inspiration! Well, I was at Joann's today shopping for materials to make our headboard, which I'll blog about later this week, when I made the mistake of walking down the discount fabric aisle. There was no turning back. Immediately, my eye caught this cute green paisley pattern, which so happened to be laying by this cute brown pattern. I decided I just had to use these patterns somehow, so I looked for one more similar fabric, and headed towards the canvas aisle to finish my impromptu craft list.
My plan was to cover three 12 X 12 canvases with my three new fabrics, and hang side by side on a wall as accent art! They'll look great above our future bed, couch, or even in our dining room/kitchen!
Here's what I did:
Here's what I started with. I also ironed all of the fabrics first, since they had some pretty serious creases from being in the bag all afternoon. Side note- the canvases were also half off, only $4 something a piece!
I used my staple gun and pulled the fabric extra tight all around the canvas and stapled it into the wooden part of the back side.
On the corners, I wrapped them like I was wrapping a present.
Finished product! Can't wait to hang them in our new home as a pop of earthy, yet modern color!
Until then, away they go into storage!
Stay tuned to see our headboard! Sneak peak-- it's going to be chocolate brown!
249 days.
